Sky OWIE!

This is Parker at this place called Sky High in Concord, CA.

Seems really awesome, right? A whole room full of trampolines, even ones on the sides of the walls at angles so you can jump off the walls.

These pictures were taken about 15 minutes before Parker received a debilitating blow to the face from some size 13 teenager doing a flip.
We immediately rushed to the ER only to find out they get kids 3 times a month with Sky High injury's.
All was well though. He was close to stitches, but no brag tag yet.
Lip is still attached and he can talk, to my dismay (just teasing), although the immense hole
caused by his bottom teeth was cause for a cringe.
Your lucky he did not let me take a picture of it.
Oh yeah ... I asked.

We took a GREAT field trip today to the Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve.
We had an interesting class about local snakes given by a park range (Ranger Eddie).
Then we ate lunch while the Mommies corralled the young ones we found we were in the middle of a war between the older set of boys.
Mom: "Parker, c'mon let's not use the word die, die , die!"
Parker: "okay Mom" as he ran off he proceeded to yell even louder.
"My Mom said I can't yell die so ... KILL, KILL, KILL"
I give up for today.

We took an awesome hike up the side of the big hill and viewed wind caves with a big group of Mom's (with kids attached to their backs and in slings) and little ones. It was cold, but nice to be out in nature as usual.

Enjoy

We got to actually see one eat a mouse
Parker: "Goodbye, my poor, sweet MICKEY!"
totally demonic P

THANKSGIVING

I have never been this excited to post!!!!!

If you can find the time watch this!
So much love and costume making (Andy says I am the Isaac Mizrahi of cardboard) went into this short video of the kids getting the most out of their unit study. Along with their cousins from Southern California it was meant to be a HIT. This Thanksgiving they put on this GREAT skit. Please remember we have just recovered from colds covered by a blanket of the flu sprinkled with a 23 and a half turkey basted in an oven of love. My eyes are burning from lack of sleep.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU ALL

The First of Fall Family Photos

Deciding what photo is on the Christmas card has begun.

This one is good except it is missing one thing ... hmmm ... oh yeah, DAD!

Oops. Shucks gotta try again. Man I thought we were done. Bummer.

Blast Off To The Moon

We are doing a unit study on the Moon, so we have been spending a lot of time on the NASA website. It has an abundance of GREAT stuff for the kids. Including all kinds of awesome science projects and ways you can get your kids involved with the love of outer space. We played an online game where as we played we learned a lot about the next mission going into outer space. STS-133 will blast off Nov 30th on a mission to take spare parts to the international space station. The crew consists of four men and one woman (poor gal). They also have this totally fun thing to do with the kids where you can send your image into outer space on the STS-133 upon it's return back to earth you can print out a certificate that your face traveled through space. The boys got a kick out of that. Here is the link.

Also there is a Leonid Meteor Shower this week. The best day to view it is tomorrow night anywhere from 5:30pm-4am. Tomorrow night is also one of the very few nights you will be able to spot the international space station at 5:27 in the South West part of the sky. All the info for that is at the linkbelow. We are going up to Dinosaur Hill tomorrow at 5:15 to try and catch the space station and the meteor shower. I will blog later to tell you what we found.

Nature Hike and Card Making

We went on a nature walk today and the kids had a blast.
Who knew throwing dirt clods would be so much fun? Boy's I guess!
We also climbed trees like it was nobodies business
and collected fall leaves for our card making art project later in the afternoon .
OOOOH ... and to top it all off Parker spotted a dead snake
skeleton that everyone needed to see and touch with a stick.
I'm pretty sure it is dead boys.
Mommy spotted the ever so uncommon dirty sock in the bushes, but no one even seemed to care. Exoskeleton SNOBS!
A baby Caterpillar too to make it complete.

The card making was for a Christmas card drive. The kids sat around the table for a good hour today cutting and pasting, coloring and drawing. You can either send in cards to the first link address or they make it simple and you can create a card with your own words of encouragement and even send a picture along too for a small donation. I'm talking like 2 bucks. If you are interested the links below will guide you.

In any case enjoy the pictures of the kids on there nature day.
