We are doing a unit study on the Moon, so we have been spending a lot of time on the NASA website. It has an abundance of GREAT stuff for the kids. Including all kinds of awesome science projects and ways you can get your kids involved with the love of outer space. We played an online game where as we played we learned a lot about the next mission going into outer space. STS-133 will blast off Nov 30th on a mission to take spare parts to the international space station. The crew consists of four men and one woman (poor gal). They also have this totally fun thing to do with the kids where you can send your image into outer space on the STS-133 upon it's return back to earth you can print out a certificate that your face traveled through space. The boys got a kick out of that. Here is the link.

Also there is a Leonid Meteor Shower this week. The best day to view it is tomorrow night anywhere from 5:30pm-4am. Tomorrow night is also one of the very few nights you will be able to spot the international space station at 5:27 in the South West part of the sky. All the info for that is at the linkbelow. We are going up to Dinosaur Hill tomorrow at 5:15 to try and catch the space station and the meteor shower. I will blog later to tell you what we found.
